Country Western Dance comprises many different dance styles that were derived from country-western music in the United States. The origins can be dated back to the early 19th century. A few of these dance elements date back to the early 1700s when immigrants took these moves to the US.
Furthermore, the Country Western dance style is fun and addictive and has been incorporated into popular culture.
Country Western dance derived from the many cultures that fused when immigrating to the United States. This included people from Ireland, England, French and other European areas. The dances which came from these countries consisted of jigs, minutes and quadrilles.
These dances eventually merged to become a “polka” style dance. This became perfect for barn dances and other large gatherings.
Late on in the 19th century, “swinging” became a common dance in which the partners would put their hands on their waists and spin across the floor. The high society looked down on this form of dance, however, it kept gaining popularity.
